Family History Technology Workshop looking for paper submissions

The Brigham Young University Family History Technology Workshop is now accepting papers for its eighth annual conference to be held March 13, 2008.

The submission deadline is Jan. 22 and applicants will be notified of their acceptance by Feb. 6. The conference solicits submissions of original research as well as experience papers that address technology problems whose solutions have the potential to improve family history and genealogical research.

The workshop welcomes student papers and will give awards for the top student submissions.

This workshop provides a forum for presenting and discussing current and emerging research on technology that supports family history and genealogy. All who enjoy presenting and learning about emerging technological research, as it applies to family history and genealogy, are welcome to attend—especially those who do research and publish in the areas of informatics and computer science.

The conference will include a keynote speaker and technical presentations. For more information on paper submission requirements and the conference, visit fht.byu.edu.

Those interested in this conference may also be interested in the Computerized Family History and Genealogy Conference to be held March 14 and 15, 2008. For more information, visit ce.byu.edu/cw.
