The Europe program director at the International Crisis Group in Brussels will address issues related to the European Union as part of an Area Focus Lecture at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in 238 Herald R. Clark building on the Brigham Young University campus.
Nicholas Whyte, who will speaking on the topic "Muscles from Brussels? The European Union as a Global Actor," is an honorary senior research fellow at the Institute of Governance, Public Policy and Social Research of Queen's University of Belfast.
Whyte is fluent in French, Dutch and German. He lived in Bosnia, Herzegovina and Croatia while working for the National Democratic Institute from 1997 to 1998.
