Ethics subject for Wheatley Institution Conference at BYU Feb. 26-27

Brigham Young University’s Wheatley Institution will host a Conference on Ethics Thursday and Friday, Feb. 26-27. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to attend.

The conference will commence with featured speaker, Dale Murphy, founder of the iWontCheat foundation. He will lecture on ethics in America Thursday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m. in the Joseph Smith Building Auditorium.

Murphy played for the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies during his professional major league baseball career from 1976 to 1993. He has written three books about athletics and youth sports. His nonprofit organization iWontCheat foundation promotes ethics and deters steroid use and cheating.

The conference will conclude with two lecturers and a panel discussion Friday, Feb. 27, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.in the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center Assembly Hall.

The Wheatley Institution was founded in 2007 to enrich faculty and student experiences by contributing recognized scholarship that lifts society by preserving and strengthening its core institutions.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
