Elder Paul V. Johnson will speak at Nov. 6 BYU devotional

Elder Paul V. Johnson, a member of the Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center for a Brigham Young University campus devotional.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byub.org. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu.

Elder Johnson was serving as an Area Seventy for the Utah Salt Lake City Area prior to being called as a General Authority April 5, 2005. In addition to his service as an Area Authority, he has served the Church as a counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, stake high councilor, ward Young Men president and full-time missionary. He is the Church Commissioner of Education.

Elder Johnson attended BYU, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in zoology and botany, followed by a master’s degree in counseling and guidance. Later he earned a doctorate in instructional technology from Utah State University. He has worked in a number of teaching and senior administrative capacities for the Church Educational System.
