Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf to speak at BYU devotional Nov. 11

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, a member of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at a devotional Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center on the Brigham Young University campus.

The devotional will be broadcast live on KBYU (Channel 11), KBYU-FM (89.1), BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks and on byubroadcasting.org.

It will be rebroadcast Sunday, Nov. 16, on KBYU-FM (89.1) at 8 p.m. and on BYU-Radio at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. It will also be rebroadcast Sunday, Nov. 23, on KBYU (Channel 11) at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., and on BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Elder Uchtdorf was the senior vice president of flight operations and chief pilot of Lufthansa German Airlines for seven years before being called to full-time LDS Church service. He was an airline captain with Lufthansa from 1970-96 and served in various management positions with the company.

A native of Germany, Elder Uchtdorf and his family joined the LDS Church in 1947 in Zwickau, Germany. At the time of his call in 1994 to be a LDS Church leader, Elder Uchtdorf was serving as a stake president in Germany.
