Elder Claudio R. M. Costa to address BYU devotional Nov. 2

Elder Claudio R. M. Costa, a member of the Presidency of the Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will address Brigham Young University students, staff and faculty in a devotional Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The address will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and at byub.org. Visit byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu for rebroadcast and archive information.

Elder Costa was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on March 31, 2001, and is currently a member of the Presidency of the Seventy. He served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy from April 1994 through March 2001.

He has served as president of the South America North Area, president of the Brazil North Area and as a counselor in the Brazil and South America South Areas.

He studied marketing in São Paulo as a young man and later served for 13 years in various positions in the Church Educational System. At the time of his calling as a General Authority, he was the director of the Church’s Institute of Religion in São Paulo.
