Elder Charles Didier featured at BYU devotional Sept. 21

Elder Charles Didier of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the Marriott Center to the Brigham Young University community in a campus devotional.

Live broadcasts of the devotional are on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks, KBYU-FM (89.1) and byubroadcasting.org.

Rebroadcasts will be Sunday, Sept. 26 on BYU-Radio at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3 on KBYU-TV at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and KBYU-FM at 8 p.m.

Elder Didier has served as a general authority since Oct. 3, 1975. Throughout his almost 30 years of service, Elder Didier has been president of the South America North Area, North America Southwest Area, Europe East Area, Utah North Area and Utah South Area.

Born in 1935 in Belgium, Didier joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1957. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Liege in Belgium and served in the Belgian Air Force Reserve.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
