"Designing Nature Reserves" topic for BYU John Tanner Lecture Nov. 15

Bill Newmark, research curator and conservation biologist for the Utah Museum of Natural History, will present the Fall 2007 John Tanner Lecture at Brigham Young University’s Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum on Thursday, Nov. 15

Newmark’s lecture is titled “Designing Nature Reserves: Lessons from Western North America and East Africa,” and will be held at 7 p.m. in the Tanner Auditorium on the museum’s first floor. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend the lecture as well as a reception before the lecture at 6:30 p.m.

Newmark has conducted field research in East Africa and North America for more than 25 years and is an international consultant and technical adviser on conservation biology. He has written two books and more than 70 scientific papers and technical reports.
