The A. Dean Larsen Book Collecting Conference will mark its 10th year Friday, March 22, in the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University. Three pre-conference workshops will be held Thursday, March 21, in the library as well.

Registration is a nominal $35 and includes the keynote luncheon. The fee for the Thursday workshops is also $35. Registration forms, session information and presenter bios are available at lib.byu.edu/adl or adlbookcollectingconference2013.wordpress.com/registration.

The conference will have sessions on collecting British illustrations, American fine printing, Yellowstone travel accounts and Mormon materials. Visiting presenters include award-winning illustrator Bethanne Andersen and Shane J. Chism, author of “A Selection of Early Mormon Hymnbooks, 1832-1872.”

The A. Dean Larsen Book Collecting Conference is underwritten by the Larsen family in honor of A. Dean Larsen, who was the director of collection development at the Harold B. Lee Library from the 1960s to the 1990s. During his tenure, the library’s collections grew from 300,000 books to more than three million books. Today the library holds more than eight million items.
