DATE CHANGE: BYU hosts Faith and Scholarship Symposium Feb. 16

The Faith and Scholarship Symposium, sponsored by the Graduate Student Association at Brigham Young University, will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Wilkinson Student Center Ballroom.

A previously distributed calendar listing mistakenly listed this event for Feb. 10.

Speakers include Elaine Marshall, dean of the College of Nursing, and John Tanner, academic vice president.

The symposium will give students the opportunity to hear from those who are successful in their careers and have held true to their religious values.

"We want students at BYU to realize that they don't have to subdue their faith to gain scholarly work," says Janice Robinson, office manager at BYU Graduate Studies. "Our speakers are people who understand the principles of the gospel and have been able to successfully mesh them into their careers."

For information or questions, contact Sarah Warburton, president of the graduate student association, by e-mail at gsa@byu.edu or call Janice Robinson at (802) 422-2863.
