"Cougarettes in Concert" at Provo's Covey Center Feb. 21-23

The Brigham Young University Cougarettes will perform in concert at the Covey Center for the Arts, 425 W. Center Street in Provo, Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23, at 7:30 p.m. with a Saturday matinee performance at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at $15 for the general public and $12 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the Covey Center Box Office by calling 801-825-7007 or by visiting coveycenter.org.

The performances will provide an opportunity for the Cougarettes to demonstrate their versatility in varied genres of dance. This highly disciplined dance team has worked with some of the country’s most exciting choreographers during the past year, including Jaci Royal, Shandon Perez, Alan Salazar and Tomas Protovinsky, each of whom will be featured during the concert.

The concert will feature  jazz, contemporary, lyrical, Broadway and hip hop styles, according to Jodi Maxfield, BYU spirit coordinator and Cougarette artistic director.

For the second consecutive year, the Cougarettes are the reigning 2012 College Dance Team National Hip Hop Champions and now hold ten total National College Dance Team titles dating back to 1997. The Cougarettes are also the 2012 Prague Dance Festival Grand Prize Overall winners.
