Cougar Marching Band in concert Nov. 13

The "Power of the Wasatch," otherwise known as the Brigham Young University Cougar Marching Band, will perform Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

The performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.

"This is an opportunity to hear the band play all the music fans hear in the stadium in a little different atmosphere," said Don L. Peterson, director of the Cougar Band.

The band consists of 225 musicians from all over the world, and performs during pregame and halftime events at every home football game. It also accompanies the team to bowl games and has performed at homecoming parades and Homecoming Spectacular concerts.

"The Cougar Band is one of the outstanding marching bands in the country," Peterson said. "It represents a tremendous commitment of resources from the School of Music in support of the university athletics."
