Cory Leonard to deliver BYU devotional address May 3

Cory Leonard, assistant director at the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University, will be the campus devotional speaker Tuesday, May 3, at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byub.org. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu.

Leonard has been serving as assistant director since 2001.  He coordinates events, marketing communications and publications as well as outreach activities to business, media and public schools for BYU’s Center for the Study of Europe, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI.

He also helps direct the David M. Kennedy Center's nationally recognized student programs: the Intercultural Outreach and the Model United Nations. He also led the center’s Global Diplomacy Study Abroad program last year. In 2007 he helped create the Journal of International Organizations, a peer-reviewed forum for practitioners. His research interests include global issues, diplomacy and cross-cultural affairs.

Leonard is a native of Farmington, Utah. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from BYU and his master’s in public administration from the Marriott School of Management.

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
