Comcast Utah adds BYU Television International to channel lineup

Provides high-quality programming in Spanish with Portuguese SAP feed

Comcast Utah is adding BYU Television International to its channel lineup on channel 100, bringing inspirational and educational programming in Spanish (with a Portuguese SAP feed) to all Comcast digital cable customers. Comcast also carries BYU Television on channel 21, which is available to all customers and is broadcast in English.

“BYU Television International is a unique international programming service that began just one year ago,” said Saul Leal, station manger of BYU Television International. “While BYU Television is well-known throughout the United States and has distinguished itself with its mix of BYU and Church programming, BYU Television International makes it possible for viewers to watch live programming that is inspiring and educational — such as BYU devotionals, LDS General Conference and special firesides as well as sporting events, documentaries and musical performances — all in their native language."

"BYU Television International also offers audiences uplifting, entertaining and cultural programming from Latin America such as Benemerito and Brasil Doce Lar,” Leal said.

“BYU TV provides high-quality programming that impacts the daily lives of many of our customers here in Utah," said Scott Tenney, area vice-president for Comcast Utah. "We’re pleased to offer these customers even more influential and uplifting programming — in language — with the launch of BYU TV International. We will also continue to offer some of the best programming from both networks on-demand.”

Just over a year after its launch, BYU Television International reaches approximately three million households, representing more than nine million potential viewers, and has a presence in virtually every country in the Western hemisphere, from Mexico all the way to the Pampas and Patagonia in the south of Argentina and Chile as well as the Caribbean and the Iberian Peninsula.

Comcast Corporation is the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services. In Utah, Comcast offers video, voice and data services to customers across the Wasatch Front, and has approximately 1,000 local employees.

A complete listing of programming available on BYU Television International is available at www.byutvint.org or by calling 1-866-662-9888.
