College of Nursing hosts annual endowment dinner April 6

Brigham Young University’s College of Nursing will host its annual Mary Ellen Edmunds Nursing Endowment for the Healer’s Art Dinner Tuesday, April 6, in the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center at 6:30 p.m.

Reservations are $75 a person and are available through March 29. For more information or to make a reservation, call (801) 422-4143.

This year’s celebration will feature S. Michael Wilcox, who has been working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Church Education System for 36 years. He was a BYU professor of ancient scripture, and he has written many books, guided tours in Europe, Central America, China, Church history sites and the Holy Land.

The annual dinner promotes the goal of a $500,000 endowment for the college. Over the years, the endowment has honored the unique mission of the College of Nursing as well as a graduate of the nursing program, Mary Ellen Edmunds, a former Relief Society General Board member and director of training at the Missionary Training Center in Provo.

The endowment will enhance student-mentored research, provide additional student scholarships, augment research and learning experiences in diverse populations and perpetuate the first College of Nursing Professorship.

For more information, contact Rose Ann Jarrett at (801) 422-4143 or by e-mail at roseann_jarrett@byu.edu.
