Classes at Family History Library at BYU available on Sundays

Starting in January 2009, the Family History Library in the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University is offering a variety of free family history classes from 3 to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

The Family History Library will offer up to 50 different classes quarterly on subjects such as family history basics, organizing, computers, research helps, U.S. research, international research, temple submission and training for consultants. A printable copy of the schedule is available at www.lib.byu.edu/fslab.

Patrons may also visit the Family History Library for training in FamilySearch indexing on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. FamilySearch indexing and family record extraction allow family history workers to create automated indexes of records from around the world, including census records, church registers and vital records.

All of the Family History Library resources are available to the public from 10 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. these Sundays. Family history service missionaries are available to assist patrons. Free visitor parking is located in front of the BYU Museum of Art.

For more information, contact the BYU Family History Library at (801) 422-6200.
