CIO Kelly Flanagan at BYU devotional April 1

Kelly Flanagan, vice president of information technology and chief information officer at Brigham Young University, will speak at the university devotional Tuesday (April 1) at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The devotional will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite network and at broadcasting.byu.edu. It will be rebroadcast on Sunday, April 6, at 8 p.m. on KBYU-FM, and on Sunday, April 13, at 6 and 11 a.m. on KBYU-TV and at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on BYU-Television.

Flanagan received a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering in 1993 from BYU. That same year, he started as a faculty member at BYU.

He also took a professional leave to Intel Corporation during the beginning of his teaching career to continue his research on collecting, storing and using address and instruction trace data.

In 2000, the governor's office named Flanagan Utah Citizen of the Year with the Golden Key Award. He also received the Computer Science Department Teacher of the Year award in 1998.
