Church sports topic for BYU gallery family home evening programs in March

The Education in Zion Gallery at Brigham Young University will hold two Family Home Evening programs focused on the history of sports in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints March 11 and 25 at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

This FHE program will include a trivia game. Questions will be based on the history of church sports, and prizes will be awarded to those who correctly answer the most questions.

“March’s FHE is perfect for groups, families or dates,” Gallery Educator Eryn Lane said. “Some of the questions that could be asked are, ‘What year did Cosmo begin being the official BYU mascot?’ or ‘What year did Ty Detmer win the Heisman Trophy?’”

“While there will be opportunities for everyone to learn something, the night will still be fun with something for everyone to enjoy,” said Lane.

The Education in Zion Gallery is located in the Joseph F. Smith Building west of the Harold B. Lee Library. The gallery documents the rich history and heritage of education in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Monday and Wednesday nights the gallery stays open until 9 p.m. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
