Celebrate students during National Student Employment Week April 10-14

BYU departments are encouraged to recognize their student employees for the unique contributions they provide during National Student Employment Week April 10-14.

BYU employs more than 11,000 students who combine hard work, creativity, knowledge, skill and enthusiasm to provide essential services for the university.

Some suggestions for student recognition include:

  • Decorating an office or door recognizing your student workers.

  • Sending thank you notes to your student employees, their families, and spouses.

  • Presenting recognition certificates honoring individual accomplishments.

  • Showing appreciation by clever and fun recognition certificates.

  • Having a potluck dinner party or dessert bar to celebrate the week. BYU Student Employment will be giving away candy and holding drawings for campus prizes. Please encourage your students to stop by 2024 WSC throughout that week.

    During the week BYU's nominee for National Student Employee of the Year will be announced.

    Last year's Student Employee of the Year, Amanda Parish, said she “found great mentors from the exceptional fulltime staff. The best part about working for people who believe I can always do a little bit better is that I began to believe in myself.”

    Amanda changed her career because of the experiences she had as a student employee. "I willl take with me the skills and traits I developed while working on campus,” she said.
