CANCELLED: Nigerian ambassador to speak at BYU June 9

The Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University will host His Excellency George Achulike Obiozor, the Nigerian ambassador to the United States, for an Ambassadorial Insights lecture Friday, June 9, at 2 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Admission is free, and the public is welcome.

Appointed Nigerian ambassador to the United States in 2004, Obiozor previously served as the ambassador to Israel and as high commissioner to Cyprus.

The author of several books and articles, Obiozor received a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Puget Sound. He also attended Columbia University where he received a master degrees and a doctoral degree in international affairs.

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
