Campus remains closed Wednesday

The Thanksgiving holiday has been extended for most of Brigham Young University's employees.

No classes were scheduled for Wednesday but all other services were to run as usual until Tuesday's major blizzard warning issued by the National Weather Service. Based on the warning, the administration closed the university Tuesday at 3 p.m. and extended the closure through Wednesday.

Essential employees such as University Police and the telephone operators remain on duty, as determined by unit supervisors. If you have questions about specific locations or events, we encourage you to contact the respective organization or call 801-422-4636.

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
