Campus Home Evening Sept. 10 will feature Samuelson family

The BYU Student Service Association will sponsor a "campus home evening" featuring President Cecil O. Samuelson and his family Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center on the Brigham Young University campus.

Students, faculty and the BYU community are invited to attend the free event. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and refreshments will be provided for 10,000 people.

"Campus home evening is an exciting opportunity for students to really get to know President and Sister Samuelson," said Dave Johnson, BYUSA president. "It's going to be fun and light-hearted."

President Samuelson will conduct the evening. His wife Sharon and their daughter Sara will participate in some of the activities. One of the highlights will be a flannel board presentation that tells the story of how President and Sister Samuelson met.

Other activities will include a video presentation, Sister Samuelson conducting family or "campus" business, a musical performance by Vocal Point and a question-and-answer session with President Samuelson. Also, President Samuelson will teach the evening's lesson, as well as challenge the Pre-Med Club in a game of "Operation."

Samuel Glanzer, BYUSA vice president, said the informal setting of the campus home evening will help students become better acquainted with President Samuelson.
