Cambridge professor to speak at BYU April 5

The annual Humanities, Classic and Comparative Literature Lectureships at Brigham Young University have been combined this year to present a special guest speaker from the University of Cambridge, Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m., in 2084 Jesse Knight Building.

Mary Beard, professor of classics from Newham College at the University of Cambridge, will address the topic of ancient Mediterranean art, with specific reference to the current BYU Museum of Art exhibit.

Beard is widely published in classical art history, and is the author of a recent volume on the Parthenon and co-author of the Oxford History of Art volume on Classical Art.
