The BYU School of Music presents the Wind Symphony in Wind Band Music Around The World in the de Jong Concert Hall on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Conductor Don Peterson leads this premier instrumental ensemble in classical and contemporary pieces that highlight the wind band music from around the world.
The evening begins with lighter wind selections from Italy, Brazil, Spain, Venezuela, Ukraine and Scotland. The program concludes with two major works: "Korean Dances" by Korean/Japanese composer Chang Su Koh and a new piece by Thai composer, Narong Prangcharoen, winner of the 2013 Barlow Prize. Prangcharoen's commissioned work will also be premiered by the United States Marine Band and Florida State University's Wind Orchestra.
