BYU's Synthesis plans Nov. 16 concert at de Jong Concert Hall

Synthesis, Brigham Young University’s premier jazz ensemble, will be performing Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. 

 Tickets, ranging in price from $6 to $10, are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322, or online at byuarts.com.

Directed by Ray Smith, Synthesis consists of some of the best and most versatile student musicians at the university. The group combines swing, blues, jazz, Latin and fusion styles for a wonderful, toe-tapping experience.

The award-winning ensemble has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. They are past champions of the Pacific Collegiate Jazz Festival. They have also participated in the prestigious Montreux International Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland and the Pori International Jazz Festival in Finland. They have also been guest performers at Tokyo Disneyland.
