BYU's Q'd Up plans evening of jazz Jan. 19

With guest artist Kelly Eisenhour

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the faculty jazz quintet Q'd Up along with guest artist Kelly Eisenhour Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free.

The quintet will perform a variety of music including "In a Mellow Tone" by Duke Ellington, "Amazon Fantasy" by Steve Lindeman, "Your Heart's Timeless Charms" by Jay Lawrence and "Blue Daniel" by Frank Rosolino.

Q'd Up members Lawrence and Lindeman composed most of the music that will be performed in the concert. The music in this concert was recorded in December for the third Q'd Up album which will be released later this year.

Lawrence plays percussion and Lindeman plays the keyboard. Other members include Ron Brough playing percussion, Matt Larson playing bass and Ray Smith playing woodwinds.

Eisenhour will perform vocal numbers during the concert. She is an assistant professor in the BYU School of Music. Eisenhour also directs the BYU Jazz Voices and Women's Vocal Jazz.
