BYU's Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum diplays photo contest winners

Brigham Young University’s Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum will be hosting its annual Nature Photography Exhibition through March 8. This competition and exhibition has been featured at the museum for over 10 years.

Photographs by both amateur and professional photographers are featured. Winners and recognitions were announced Feb. 5 at the museum.

All are invited to view the exhibit during normal business hours. Admission is free. The museum, located southeast of the Marriott Center, is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

BYU engineering students design new wearable tech for search and rescue rats... yes, rats!

A recent BYU engineering capstone team took on the challenge of designing an improved backpack localization device for APOPO, a global organization that has deployed HeroRATS for more than 25 years. APOPO’s rats have helped save millions of lives by sniffing out explosives in war-torn regions and detecting tuberculosis in laboratory settings.
