BYU's Lee Library opens "Ender's Game" exhibit Nov. 1 to coincide with film's premiere

“Card’s Game: Orson Scott Card at the Library” on main level

In anticipation of the new movie “Ender’s Game,” the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University is opening a new exhibit featuring the works of author Orson Scott Card Friday, Nov. 1, on the library's main floor, level three.

Admission is free and the public is welcome. The exhibit, “Card’s Game: Orson Scott Card at the Library,” will be open during regular library hours.

Card’s novel “Ender’s Game” has a global following, and the Lee Library has worked with the alumnus and author over the years to build a collection that represents his impact not only in science fiction but also in drama and poetry.

The exhibit will follow the transformation of “Ender’s Game” from a manuscript short story submitted to Analog in 1977, to the revised novel manuscript from 1984, through a screenplay.

"This is a rare opportunity to see the progress of a significant work in one place," said Roger Layton, Lee Library communications director.

The exhibit will also include a selection of the many translations of the book from around the world along with other items in the Orson Scott Card Collection held in the library's L. Tom Perry Special Collections.

For more information, contact Roger Layton, (801) 422-6687, roger_layton@byu.edu.
