BYU's Larry Green will present faculty guitar recital Nov. 30

Brigham Young University faculty member Larry Green will present a variety of works for the guitar during a faculty recital Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Maeser Building auditorium (room 321).

Admission is free and open to the public.

His program consists of a variety of pieces including "Torre Bermeja" by Isaac Albeniz, "A Child Is Born in Bethlehem" by David Sargent, "Sons de Carilhoes" by Joao Guimaraes, Variations on the Hymn Tune "Kingsfold" by Lawrence Green and "Holiday for Strings" by David Rose.

Green holds a master's degree in music from Arizona State University and teaches guitar studio and pedagogy classes at BYU, where he coordinates the guitar program.

He is fluent in many guitar styles including classical, jazz, rock and country. In addition to performances with the Temple Square Concert Series and Utah Symphony, Green has written several guitar instructional books and has produced a compact disc titled "Kingsfold."
