BYU's groups for new and experimental music to perform Nov. 6

Brigham Young University's Group for New Music ensemble along with the Group for Experimental Music will perform Saturday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Group for New Music prides itself in the type of music it plays. It is an outlet for new contemporary music, which has not been played before or is not well known in the music industry.

The group will perform pieces by David Sargent, Stephen Jones, Brian Hulse, Michael Hicks and Christian Asplund.

Performers in Group for New Music include faculty members Martha Sargent, Arden Hopkin, Scott Holden, M. Ryan Taylor, Robin Hancock and Christian Asplund. Students performing with the group include Jennie Tipton, Caroline Maxwell, Andrea Weston, Celeste Cope, Ellinor Bergqvist, Susan Croft, Bryn Huntington, Michael Fjerstad and Jenne Marie West.

Those performing in the Group for Experimental Music include Robert Bennion, Jeremy Bowen, Margot Glasset, Joseph Jensen, Steven Liening, Andrew Maxfield, Stuart Maxfield, Ryan Moore and Christian Asplund.

They will perform the music of David Wolff.
