BYU's April Clayton plans faculty flute recital

Recently returned from her Carnegie Hall Solo Debut Recital, Brigham Young University School of Music faculty member April Clayton will be featured in a flute recital Saturday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission to the performance is free and the public is invited to attend.

Scott Holden will accompany Clayton on the piano.

Clayton's program will feature the Sonate by Paul Hindemith, the Sonata by Philip Lasser and "Acrostic Song" from "Final Alice" by David Del Tredici.

Clayton, a native of Bountiful, Utah, attended Oberlin College and Conservatory as a National Merit Scholar and completed her B.M. and M.M. degrees at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She was the youngest student ever admitted to the doctoral program at the Juilliard School at age 21, and received her Doctor of Music Arts degree from Juilliard in May 2001.
