BYU Women’s Chorus presents annual spring concert March 28

The Brigham Young University Women’s Chorus will present its annual spring concert Tuesday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $9 or $6 with BYU or student ID. To purchase tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4322 or visit performances.byu.edu.

Conducted by Jean Applonie and assisted by Caric Smolnick, the Women’s Chorus will perform a variety of numbers about hope, faith and springtime.

The choir of 154 female voices will sing three songs about hope: “Sing Creation’s Music On” by Stephen Paulus, “Hope” by Marjan Helms and “Hope is Singing to Me” by Chester L. Alwes.

They will also perform “The Snow” by Edward Elgar accompanied on the violin by Lisa Badal and Saralyn Workman, “Salut Printemps” by Debussy and “The Echoing Green” by William Mathias.

The performance will also feature three pieces by Sir Arthur Sullivan: “Three Little Maids” from “The Mikado,” “Climbing Over Rocky Mountain” from “Pirates of Penzance” and “Finale” from “The Gondoliers.”
