BYU Vocal Point adds 2 p.m. concert Jan. 18

Performance at 7:30 p.m. has sold out

Vocal Point, Brigham Young University’s celebrated male a cappella group, will perform in concert Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

The 2 p.m. matinee was recently added due to the original 7:30 p.m. performance selling out.

Tickets for the event are $12 for reserved seating, with a $2 discount available for students. Tickets can be purchased online at byuarts.com/tickets.

In June the group performed a two-week tour in Nauvoo and sang at the Joseph Smith Martyrdom Commemoration. Additionally, the group will release a new contemporary adult album in the spring of 2014.

The nine-man singing group has been performing for more than 20 years since its start by two students who got the BYU Music Department to adopt them into their program. Their popularity has grown in recent years, due to their appearance the NBC show “The Sing-Off” and their use of new media and videos on YouTube.
