BYU tuition to increase three percent for 2013-2014 academic year

Brigham Young University will implement a three-percent increase across all tuition categories for the 2013-2014 academic year, which will help cover increased costs at the university. This will bring the undergraduate rate per semester from $2,355 to $2,425, an increase of $70.

Next year's tuition for advanced-standing (graduate) students will be raised from $2,975 to $3,065 per semester, an increase of $90. Law School and Graduate School of Management students will pay $5,640, an increase of $165 from last year's rate of $5,475.

Undergraduate tuition for spring and summer terms will also increase from $1,178 to $1,213, $35 more. Spring/summer 2012 rates for advanced-standing students will be $1,533, an increase of $45.

Students who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pay twice the listed rates, and those rates in 2013-2014 will also reflect the three-percent increase.

Non-LDS undergraduates will pay $4,850, an increase of $140; advanced-standing non-LDS students will pay $6,130, an increase of $180; and non-LDS law and business graduate students will pay $11,280, an increase of $330.

The current tuition rates reflect a 3.3-percent increase for 2012-2013.
