BYU Travel Study offers U.S., Church history tours

Travel Study at Brigham Young University is offering a number of Church history and American history tours during 2004 to places such as Nauvoo, Kirtland, Ohio, New York, Washington, D.C., Boston and Missouri.

The tours begin in April and run through October, visiting places such as the Joseph Smith farm in Palmyra, New York, the Sacred Grove, the John Johnson farm in Hiram, Ohio, the Newel K. Whitney store, Far West, Missouri, and Winter Quarters, Nebraska.

Programs vary in length and emphasis. Programs specifically for single adults are available as well.

Each program will feature a tour director with Church Education System experience who will provide historical background, doctrinal insights and interesting details about each site.

Other features of the trip include round-trip airfare from Salt Lake City with different departure cities arranged for an adjusted cost, air-conditioned bus transportation, hotel accommodations, typically two meals per day, all admission fees to sites indicated in the itinerary, health and life insurance upon request and study material and information on travel itinerary.

All participants are required to maintain Church standards.

For more information, including a list of available tours and trip specifics, visit the BYU Travel Study Web site at http://travelstudy.byu.edu, or call John Best at (801) 378-2048.
