Preview of upcoming tour to Spain, Portugal
Brigham Young University's Synthesis jazz ensemble, directed by Ray Smith, will perform jazz tunes with a Spanish flavor Wednesday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

The Synthesis concert will highlight several pieces with a Spanish flair that the band will perform at festivals in Spain and Portugal in July, including the Stan Kenton Band's "Malaguena," "Grenada" and "El Congo," as well as Chick Corea's "La Fiesta."
The program will also feature favorites by jazz legends Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Glen Miller, along with original compositions and arrangements by group members, including Anthony Phan and Mike Tobian.
