The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Symphony Orchestra in concert, with faculty artist Steve Call and guest artist Catalin Rotaru, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

Conducted by Eric Hansen, the Symphony Orchestra will present orchestral suites from Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen,” “El Salón México” by Aaron Copland and “Heiden Variations” by Johannes Brahms.
The concert will feature faculty member Call playing the tuba in a Ralph Vaughan Williams Concerto. Romanian bass player Rotaru will perform Tchaikovsky’s “Rococco Variations.” This solo was originally written for cello, but Rotaru will perform it playing the double bass.
