The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Symphony Orchestra in concert Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.
The performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.
The program will feature the premier of "Millenium" by David Sargent, the Harold R. Laycock University Professor of Music Composition at BYU.
Sargent's music has been performed in many cities throughout the United States and in Bolivia, Denmark, France, Germany and Switzerland.
The program will also include "Chairman Dances" by John Adams, "Gymnopedie" by Erik Satie orchestrated by Debussy, "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo, "Mathis der Maler" by Paul Hindemith and "Appalachian Spring" by Aaron Copland.
