BYU students, faculty now have free access to GospeLink.com

World's largest library of writings about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Harold B. Lee Library has successfully negotiated a contract with Salt Lake City-based Deseret Book Company to allow all Brigham Young University faculty and students free access to GospeLink.com.

This new internet service features the world's largest searchable library of writings related to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Included in GospeLink.com's 2,000-plus titles are reference works like the Encyclopedia of Mormonism, the Encyclopedia of Latter-day Saint History, LDS Biographical Encyclopedia, and the History of the Church by Joseph Smith.

Collections of teachings from all of the Latter-day prophets are included as well as access to conference talks. Also included are most of the early Latter-day Saint newspapers published in Ohio, Missouri and Illinois.

"GospeLink.com is a subscription service and is a great benefit for the students and faculty of BYU to receive this service free of charge," says Michael Hunter, Mormon Studies librarian at BYU's Harold B. Lee Library.

Students and faculty should be able to access the contents of GospeLink.com from anywhere on campus. Their Route Y identification and password will be needed to access GospeLink.com. From the main HBLL webpage, select "Search by Discipline," then "Religion," and finally "Mormon Studies." GospeLink is found at the top of the page.

Hunter adds that the Lee Library's Mormon Studies Web page features more than 50 electronic resources for researching history, doctrine, and culture of the Church of Jesus Christ.
