BYU student named director of national student nurses association

BYU chapter also honored

A Brigham Young University nursing student was elected a director of the National Student Nurses Association at its annual meeting April 7-11 in Orlando, Fla.

Erin Zundel campaigned for the office and was elected by her peers at the convention. She will fill the office of director west. The organization’s board of directors elects 10 nursing students at its annual convention. Zundel will be in charge of organizing next year’s conference to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

BYU’s NSNA chapter was also recognized at the conference with the Stellar Chapter Recognition Award. BYU was one of five chapters to receive the honor for “outstanding leadership, shared governance and their commitment to professional development.”

The NSNA is one of the largest and most prominent nursing associations with approximately 50,000 members in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
