The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Jazz Ensemble in concert Wednesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall on the BYU campus.
The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
The 18-member band will play a variety of jazz music from artists such as John Coltrane, Sammy Nestico, Charles Mingus and Pat Matheny.
"The audience will dig the music," said Ray Smith, band director and professor of Music at BYU. "It'll be a lot of fun."
The jazz band will perform in the big band tradition, playing pieces including "Moanin'," Syeeda's Song Flute," The Awakening," "Chelsea Bridge" and "Wind Machine."
