BYU Single Alumni and Friends plan spring conference April 24

BYU Single Alumni and Friends (age 31+) are invited to "A Breath of Fresh Air," the annual spring conference, scheduled this year for Saturday, April 24, at Spring Haven Lodge in Hobble Creek Canyon.

The event is $25 for BYUSAA members and $35 for nonmembers (includes membership fee). Payment must be received by April 14 at 5 p.m. at BYU, C-366 ASB. No late registrations will be accepted.

Those participating need to meet at 8:30 a.m. at 450 S. Canyon Drive in Springville to carpool.

The day will begin with a 9 a.m. check in and continental breakfast. Ron Clark, director of BYU Public Affairs, will be the opening speaker beginning at 9:30 a.m. Following at 10 a.m. will be a presentation of the BYU video, "A Foundation of Faith."

The 11 a.m. speaker will be Jeff O'Driscoll, author of "Hyrum Smith: Man of Integrity." His lecture is "As Firm as the Pillars of Heaven."

Following a lunch featuring music by Sheree Fitzgerald, Elder Richard Cook, General Authority emeritus of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his wife Mary will speak on the topic "There Is Beauty All Around."

Dana Baptiste will direct a 2:30 p.m. yoga/breathing workshop (bring a mat and a blanket), and activities such as volleyball, pool, ping-pong, foosball, bike riding, trail hikes and games will follow.

A 5:30 p.m. barbecue chicken dinner will precede dance instruction on the patio and a dance with "Dancin' Dave" as the DJ.
