BYU Singers, Concert Choir plan Valentine's concerts Feb. 12-13

The Brigham Young University Singers and Concert Choir will perform a special Valentine’s Day celebration, “Facets of Love:A Valentine’s Concert,” on Tuesday, Feb. 12, and Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $10 for general admission or $7 with a BYU or student ID and can be purchased at the BYU Fine Arts Ticket Office, by calling (801) 422-4322 or by visiting performances.byu.edu.

Selections performed by the choirs will include “War and Peace,” “Rousing the Renaissance,” “British Boys and Girls,” “Christ Metaphors,” “Fragments of the Mass” and “Come to the Fair.” The concert will conclude with a performance of Eric Whitacre’s “Her Sacred Spirit Soars.”

The Concert Choir is a select ensemble of 90 advanced singers and has acquired a reputation for its captivating performances of great choral literature encompassing many different styles and genres. The choir is conducted by Rosalind Hall.

The BYU Singers is a small, highly select choir of flexible singer-musicians with the reputation of being a captivating, versatile choir with an impressive repertoire and range of style. One of the major touring ensembles of the university, the Singers have traveled throughout the United States, including Hawaii, and to Israel, Australia, New Zealand, West Africa, South Africa and both Western and Eastern Europe. The Singers are conducted by Ronald Staheli.
