BYU Singers, Concert Choir plan joint performances Nov. 11-12

The Brigham Young University Singers and Concert Choir will perform in concert Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are available at $10 for the general public, $9 for senior citizens and alumni and $6 for students through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322, or at byuarts.com/tickets.

The performance presents a “voyage across the Atlantic.” BYU Singers conducted by Ronald Staheli will begin with seven numbers, including two songs from the time of Christopher Columbus composed in Spain and four songs by different American composers, including Leonard Bernstein and William Billings.

The Concert Choir, directed by Rosalind Hall, will go across the Atlantic and perform music by Brahms and Ralph Vaughan Williams followed by a return home to America with seven more songs, including “Simple Gifts” by Copland and an arrangement of “Hold On” from “The Secret Garden” by Ronald Staheli.

For more information, contact Nathan Wright, BYU choral administrator, at (801) 422-5616 or choral_assistant@byu.edu.
