BYU School of Music opens Family Music Series Oct. 20 with opera selections

Beginning this Saturday (Oct. 20), the Brigham Young University School of Music will offer its second annual Family Music Series featuring four concerts designed for families with young children to enjoy music together.

Each performance will last approximately one hour, and the recommended age is two years and older. All performances will be in the Harris Fine Arts Center.

Regular ticket prices for each concert are $6 for adults and $4 for children. The entire series may be purchased at a 25 percent discount. For tickets, contact the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322 or visit byuarts.com/tickets.

• Oct. 20: "Singing a Story," an introduction to opera with selections from Mozart's "Così fan tutte," 11 a.m., de Jong Concert Hall.

• Nov. 10: "All Mixed Up," featuring the BYU Jass Ensemble,  11 a.m., Madsen Recital Hall.

• March 2: "Celebrations," with the BYU Wind Symphony, 11 a.m.. de Jong Concert Hall.

• March 23: "Spring  Fling," featuring the BYU Philharmonic, 11 a.m., de Jong Concert Hall.
