BYU School of Music offers free concerts Dec. 2-9

To celebrate the Christmas season, the Brigham Young University School of Music will be hosting a number of free musical concerts Dec. 2–9 at various locations around campus:

  • The Jazz Lab Bands will be performing in the Madsen Recital Hall, Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. They are directed by Daniel Henderson.
  • The Songwriter Showcase will take place Friday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. Student composers will be debuting new works in this popular event modeled after similar showcases in Nashville and Los Angeles.
  • The sounds of a “Tuba Christmas” will fill the air Saturday, Dec. 4, at noon in the Madsen Recital Hall.
  • BYU’s Harp Ensemble will perform Saturday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. The ensemble is directed by ShruDeLi Ownbey.
  • A string chamber night will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. The recital will take place at the University Parkway Center located on the northeast corner of University Parkway and University Avenue.
  • BYU’s Honors Tuba Quartet will be performing Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Karl G. Maeser Building Auditorium on the southeast corner of campus.
  • A flute choir will perform at the University Parkway Center Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m.
  • A brass chamber night will take place Thursday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the University Parkway Center.
