BYU Public School Partnership celebrates 20 years with lecture series

The Brigham Young University-Public School Partnership at the David O. McKay School of Education is hosting "The Moral Dimensions of Teaching," a lecture series to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the partnership.

The final four presentations of the series will be held in the auditorium of the Harold B. Lee Library on Wednesday, Jan. 19 and Feb.9, March 2 and March 16 from 5-6 p.m.

Students and faculty from all departments and colleges involved with teacher education as well as all partnership public school administrators are invited.

The event is designed to help remind members of the BYU-Public School Partnership and educators of the four foundational moral dimensions of education.

The four dimensions were created by John Goodlad, a founder of the Center for Educational Renewal. The four moral dimensions include enculturation of the young in a social and political democracy, providing access to information for all children, practicing a nurturing pedagogy and ensuring responsible stewardship of schools.

For more information on the Moral Dimensions Lecture Series, contact the Center for Improvement of Teacher Education executive director Steven Baugh at 422-1708 or steven_baugh@byu.edu.
