Eric Dursteler, a professor in Brigham Young University's Department of History, recently received a grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities and a fellowship from Villa I Tatti, the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies.
Dursteler will spend the academic year in Florence, Italy, researching and writing. He will be studying "the experiences of renegade women as a window into gender and religious identity in the early modern Mediterranean," he said.
