BYU to present faculty dance recital Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25

The Brigham Young University Department of Dance will present "Up Close and Personal," a faculty showcase, on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dance Studio Theatre, 166 Richards building.

Tickets at $5 are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 378-4322 or at www.byu.edu/hfac.

Jennie Creer-King, one of the program coordinators, said the show gives students an opportunity to see their dance professors in a more personal way.

"Not only will you see faculty dancing or choreographing, but you will see what dancing means to each of them," she said.

Selections include choreography by Colleen West, who will showcase her new work for Homecoming Spectacular, and Raymond and Julie Robinson, a husband-and-wife team with Raymond Robinson choreographing and Julie Robinson performing.

Other faculty performing or choreographing include Julie Ahlander, Jennie Creer-King, Marilyn Berrett, Kathy Thomas, Caroline Prohofsky, Lisa Stoddard and Amy Jacobson.

For more information, contact Jennie Creer-King at (801) 422-4748 or Julie Ahlander at (801) 422-4673.
