BYU preschool, kindergarten programs accepting applications

Deadline is March 15

The Brigham Young University Family Studies Laboratory is now accepting applications for its summer 2005 and fall 2005-winter 2006 school programs.

The summer session includes preschool, pre-kindergarten and post-kindergarten sections. Children turning four by Sept. 1 are eligible for the preschool program. Children entering kindergarten in September are eligible for the pre-kindergarten program, and children entering first grade in September are eligible for the post-kindergarten program.

The summer session begins June 20 and ends Aug. 4. Tuition for the summer is $200 for the seven-week program.

The fall 2005-winter 2006 session includes the preschool and kindergarten program. Any child who turns four by Sept. 1 is eligible for the preschool program, and any child who turns five by Sept. 1 is eligible for the kindergarten program.

The program for preschool begins Sept. 6, 2005, and ends April 18, 2006. Tuition is $950 for the eight-month program. No late applications will be accepted.

The kindergarten program starts Aug. 22, 2005, and ends May 26, 2006. Tuition is $1,500 for the school year.

Applications for all the programs and sessions will be accepted until March 15, 2005, and are available at M128 B77, located on Canyon Road west of the Helaman Halls parking lot or by calling (801) 422-3219. Notifications of acceptance will be mailed by April 1.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
